Lake Travis communities in Travis County are served by the Lake Travis Independent School District. Bee Cave, Briarcliff, Travis Settlement, Lakeway, The Madrones, and Vineyard Bay are all communities included in the district. The main high school, Lake Travis High School, offers 180 course selection as well as 17 different competitive sports. Other schools include Hudson Bay Middle School, Lake Travis Middle School, Bee Cave Elementary, Lake Pointe Elementary, Lake Travis Elementary and Serene Hills Elementary.
Lake Travis, one of the clearest lakes in Texas, is a great spot for outdoor recreation. Fishing is an extremly popular activity. Different species found in the lake include white bass, striped bass, largemouth bass, guadlupe bass, sunfish and catfish. Other types of water activites include boating, scuba diving and swimming. Lake Travis is also a great spot for picnicking and camping.
